Mint Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026 · Mint is published by Aethel Apps.
The short version: Mint is built local-first. Your collection lives on your device. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and you can use the core app without an account. Card photos are used only to identify the card and are not stored on our servers.
What Mint stores
Your collection — the cards you add, their values, your cost basis, wishlist, favorites, and app preferences — is stored locally on your device. If you choose to use Cloud Backup, a copy of that collection is saved to our backup service so you can restore it. Backup is optional and only happens when you tap "Back up now."
Camera and card photos
Mint uses your camera only when you open the scanner, and only to capture the card you point it at. When you scan, the photo is sent to our card-identification and pricing partners to recognize the card and look up its value. Photos are processed to return a result and are not retained on our servers as part of your profile. If you don't want to use the camera, you can add cards manually.
Third-party services we use
- Card identification & pricing providers (for example CardSight, PriceCharting, SportsCardsPro) — to recognize a card from a photo and return market values and recent sales.
- Grading-company cert lookups (PSA and others) — only when you tap "Verify cert," to confirm a slab's details.
- Google Play Billing — to process the optional Mint Premium subscription. Payment is handled by Google; Mint never sees your card or bank details.
- Push notifications — if you turn on price-dip alerts, your device registers for notifications so we can tell you when a tracked card hits your target.
These partners receive only what they need to perform the task (such as the card image or a search query). We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show third-party ads.
- We don't require an account to scan cards or track your collection.
- We don't access your photo library beyond the image you capture in the scanner.
Your choices & deleting your data
Your local collection is removed if you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. If you used Cloud Backup and want your backup deleted, contact us at the address below and we'll remove it. You can turn off price-dip notifications at any time in your device settings or in the app.
Children
Mint is intended for a general audience of collectors and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as Mint evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
